Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 104 pp., This book is not being sold for its humor but for its historical value in the sense that it reflects the pre civil rights era and apparently the anger that someone took out on the section of "colored folk" humor which is very demeaning of African Americans. It is a tangible and poignant lessen in morality - condition : little pieces missing at the top and bottom of the spine and a one inch closed tear at the bottom creating a flap, moisture discoloration at the top corner of some of the pages in the front and some in the back, discoloration on the front and back endpapers, half of a page torn out in stories about "colored folks" and the other half of that page and a couple of accompanying pages defaced with many pen marks, cover corners bent a little - spine color two shades of green - (Texana) CR.

Binding firm; unfaded green boards have slight bumping of corners, perhnaps because the d.j. looks like it went through some of the hyperbole in the jokes here. The front panel is detached, and there are enough chips on the edges (especially at crown and foot of spine panel, where there is also a long closed tear) to help feed a Texas barbecue.
