"With this amusing and different story of an envious and vain skyscaper named Algebra, Slater Brown temporarily deserts the field of adult fiction to bring to younger readers something new in children's books. He recounts the fascinating tale of a dissatisfied Skyscraper who wanted to be recognized as the tallest in the world, and being unable to capture this coveted accolade from his forgetful cousin, the Street, or from the dignified Clouds or the wise and far-traveling Ships, he finds a new and unusual way to become the center of the whole city's attention."
