A very smart first edition of this work, one of a limited printing signed by the author and extra illustrated, complete with its scarce glassine wrap. The first edition of this work, limited to two-hundred and fifty copies signed by the author, special copy with extra plate reproduced in colour from the portrait of Grey Owl by Sir John Lavery. This number fifty-three. Complete with its original and scarce glassine wrap and housed in custom publisher's slipcase.Containing a series of stories, forming an ode to a simpler time when humanity was closer to the natural world. Illustrated with colour frontispiece as well as twenty-seven further full page plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full cloth binding with gilt to top edge. Externally lovely. Glassine wrap chipped with few closed tears and creasing. Internally, firmly bound. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
