Ohio State University: Logan Elm Press, 1992. ~Limited edition signed by the author and by the illustrator, Brent Riley. One of 300 signed and numbered copies, of which this is no. 37. Original half oatmeal linen, Logan Elm handmade paper to boards, gilt decor, based on designs by Riley, to front and rear board, paper labels to spine lettered in black. With original (?) acetate dustwrapper. 8vo (17 x 25.6cm). Printed in green-brown and black. Text block underprinted with pale brown silhouettes based Riley's illustrations. Two full-colour prints by Brent Riley. With additional loose limited edition copies of these same prints, both signed by artist, numbered 37 of 50, and protected in removable clear plastic sleeves. Inscription to front free endpaper: 'To Daniel Vaisey, the 22nd Bodley's Librarian. In remembrance of your visit and wonderful lectures, and in appreciation of your visit and camaraderie. From your friends and colleagues at The Ohio State University Libraries. Bill Studer, Director (but would-be Thompson's Librarian), September 30, 1994.' Bill Studer (1936-2021) advocated for the renovation of The Ohio State University's Thompson Library throughout his tenure as Director (hence the wry mention here): on Studer's retirement in 1999, the university committed to the project and the renovation was completed by 2009.
