Vol.I: pp.96; Vol.II: pp.208; Vol.III: pp.181, col and b&w plates in each volume, pictorial folding boards, a fine set in cloth slip-case Transcribed from the original manuscripts held in the Kerry Stokes Collection. The first volume is Wilson and Bowers account of the 'Winter Journey' in the Antarctic from the original manuscript titled "Sledge Journey to Cape Crozier from Cape Evans June 27th 1911 to Aug. 1st 1911" being a report of the Cape Crozier Party, the journey made famous by Apsley Cherry-Garrard as 'The Worst Journey in the World' and described by Captain Scott as one of the most gallant stories in Polar History. The second volume is Levick's account as surgeon and zoologist on Robert Falcon Scott's Terra Nova Expedition illustrated with his own photographs and sketches. The final volume is another account of the Northern Party on the Terra Nova Expedition by Dickason. 1st edition thus. Boards.
