Japan: Tairiku No Taiwa Sha. New. 2000. limited first editions. Hardcover. New without slipcase. Important book about paper and the hand making of paper by the founder, Naoaki Sakamoto, of Paper Nao. Text in English & Japanese. 3,000 copies printed. Sakamoto Naoaki has been involved with Nihon-shi (handmade Japanese paper) for decades. He began experimenting with papermaking, later on started dyeing it and finally drawing on it. He uses materials such as ashes and sawdust and imbeds them into the paper. The sun, rain, dew, also may contribute to the tone of the paper. If he sneezes while at work, that may appear as well. Oversize book. May require extra shipping to outside U. S. A. ; Color and black and white illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 346 pages .
