Minor edge and corner wear to the dj; there is a 7" tear starting at the head of the spine of the dj and running to the center; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are gently bumped and rubbed; some light shelf wear; overall a very crisp and clean used copy! Green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and front board. 206 very clean unmarked and uncreased historical and informative pages nicely enhanced by black and white and full-color photographs and illustrations! "On a late August afternoon in 1839, two commissioners of the Cherokee Nation stood under a huge elm tree, one of them commenting, 'Tah-le-quah.' One translation of this was, 'This will do.' they had selected a location for the capital for their Nation at a site of unparalleled beauty, and on September 6 the constitution of the Cherokees would be proclaimed at a meeting there. These were people driven from their traditional homeland in the Old South, people who had lost most of their possessions during the period of forced removal. However, they brought with them their culture, their heritage, and their determination to rebuild anew, to rebuild better......
