About This Item

New York: Knopf, 1945. This is a Near Fine copy of the First American Edition, a beautifully-produced book. Green cloth binding with gilt spine and decorations on the front panel. The first translation from German was by George R. Marek in 1943; this translation is by H.T. Lowe-Porter. Clean text; 63 pages; red topstain, fore-edges are deckled. This is very close to a Fine book; there is mild offsetting to the paste-downs and perhaps a bit of rub to the gilt on the spine. The dustjacket has some offsetting/tanning visible on the rear panel. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Near Fine.
