Very rare. First part of the text volume I (of 8 volumes - 4 of text and 4 of plates). Edition printed in Amsterdam. This volume contains all original pages up to page no. 96 (of 280). Page 'Naamen der Heeren' from before Introduction section (Voorrede) is located at the end of that section. 40x26cm. Cover: rebound in brown leather hardcover with gilt ornaments. Spine rebacked with suede leather. Binding repaired, some pages become loose, repairing recommended. Paste downs and end papers marbled. Title page printed in 2 colours - black and red. Text printed in Dutch with Latin, German and Greek. Age tanning with minimal foxing, pages clean. Evidence of some pencil marks to the front end paper, removed. Very minimal damage to edges and corners.
