Before becoming a Protestant Episcopal minister, he was engaged in the drug business and expected to become a doctor. He was a rector and minister at various churches in the Philadelphia area. His greatest fame comes from his work with Isaac Leeser on the first American edition of the Hebrew Bible. VERY SCARCE. Only a handful of examples are held in libraries worldwide.
