Physical Culture Publishing Co, New York, No date. Edition Unstated. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. introduction by author, authorities consulted and books quoted. Sepia toned photograph of author as a frontispiece. Brown coloured cloth covered boards with silver titles to the backstrip. Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. The edges of the book show flecking and on the rear board shows rubbing is present. The silver titles to the backstrip have almost worn away, leaving only a hint of the coloration in the title. Browning to the text block edges and internal text. Offset tanning to the end papers along with faint foxing. Original bookseller's sticker to the top left-hand corner of the front paste-down. "Civilisation is supposed to add to human happiness. But a careful and unprejudiced consideration of the existing condition in this so-called enlightened nature compels the conclusion that human happiness, satisfying and complete, is reached and maintain a considerable period but by a comparatively members of the human race.
