About This Item
New York: Horace Liveright, 1929. First American edition. A trifle shelf-rubbed; fine in a price-clipped dust jacket, bright and fresh with just a bit of wear to the spine ends and extremities, small snag to the rear.. 8vo, 336pp; purple cloth. A popular novelist in his time, Reck-Malleczewen was an outspoken opponent of Hitler. In the 1930s, his books were banned in Germany and he himself was arrested and died in the Dachau concentration camp. A lovely copy, in an excellent Paul Wenck dust jacket.
