New York: Stringer & Townsend, 1850. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. Slim 8vo in blindstamped red cloth decorated in gilt with design of a pair of fish lting on a grassy streambank; spine lettered in gilt. 86 pp. including tables at rear. Color plate depicting 24 different flies (not: in this volume, the plate is inserted after the title page with facing index of the files depicted. We have aso seen the plate listed as a frontispiece.). A tight example, , cover gilt bright, two small chips to the spine strip and rear outer gutter cracking, a narrow smudge to the rear cloth. Small, neat original ink presentation inscription top edge of the title page. Overall very good. A supplement to Forester's classic work, issued later the same year and rather scarcer that the original.
