About This Item
New York: Random House, 1973 First edition, stated first printing. Book in fine condition; price-clipped dust jacket with toning to spine, mild wear to spine ends, and faint shelf wear, else fine.
Originally premiered on Broadway, the production has numerous renditions, starring Sam Levene, Jack Albertson, Jack Klugman, Tony Randall, and Danny DeVito. Herbert Ross directed the film version (1975) with Walter Matthau and George Burns--Burns had taken over for his ailing friend Jack Benny, who became the oldest actor to win an Academy Award at the age of 80.
