First edition in variant green cloth [also issued in red, no priority established]. "...with introductory chapters on the religious and intellectual state of the country from the reformation to the beginning of the nineteenth century, containing an account of The Welsh Version of the Holy Scriptures'. A Centenary Tribute." Free brown end-paper contains a long, salutary presentation statement from employer to employee who is leaving his service, dated June 11th, 1884. [Just like your boss would do for you today!]. A clean copy in lightly worn covers, slightly shaken albeit hinges strong and all pages firmly attached. Light tanning to half-title, else interior clean with no foxing or marking. A nice, near very good vintage copy of this title. . First Edition. Hardcover. Near Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
