New York: Putnam, 1914.. xiii,[1],346,[6]pp. Frontis and 29 plates and photographs. Large octavo. Gilt cloth. Spine a shade dull, a few small marks and spots to upper board, otherwise a very good, tight copy. Very uncommon. First edition of this substantial study by the attorney turned amateur astronomer. This copy is in one of at least two variant bindings in which this title appears and of those two, this copy is in the least elaborate binding (top edges plain, without pictorial vignette on upper board).
