Edinburgh: W. H. Lizars Originally published by W. H. Lizars in 1843, this reprint is circa 1860s and the red cloth covers are a consistent match to the Bohn reprints of the same time period. First published as Volume XIII in the ornithological series and titled "The Natural History of the Nectariniadae or Sun-birds. 277 pages, plus 30 hand colored plates. There is an additional engraved portrait frontispiece, as well as a hand colored vignette on the decorative title page. Top edge of text block is gilded. Tissue guards protect the colored plates. Red cloth covers with gilt stamped lettering, and blind and gilt stamped decoration. Covers are frayed at spine ends, and there is a tear across the spine with the spine cover being mostly detached. Book plates and inked notations on front end leaves. Top hinge (internal) is broke, and there is separation between the decorative title and actual title page.
