New York: Sheldon & Company, 1859. 1st Edition. Publisher's Cloth. Very Good Plus. Small 8vo., x(3)291pp. plus 8pp. publisher's catalogue in the rear. Sharp First Edition bound in publisher's brown cloth with publisher's device blind-stamped on both boards. Title in gilt on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with very mild interior page edge toning. Some light scattered foxing though primarily on prelims. Some fairly mild wear and bumping to spine ends and tips. Spine toning. A few areas of light soiling. Inscribed, Signed and dated in the year of publication by the author on the front end-paper, to ___ ___, with the regards of H.M. Fields, June 15, 1859". Small neat ownership inscription just below this and dated later the same year. A very pretty collectable copy of this early travel narrative.
