Studio relativo alla validita' del sistema del salasso nella cura della febbre petecchiale corroborato da alcuni esempi nel trattamento della malattia da parte di eminenti medici. Segue la 'Lettera del Dott. Belb Medico Americano all'Eccelmo. Sig. Prof. Tommasini'. Tommasini (1768-1846), originario di Parma, ricopri' la cattedra di Clinica Medica all'Universita' di Bologna. Sosteneva, nel sistema da lui proposto  denominato 'Nuova Dottrina Medica Italiana', che l'infiammazione fosse il principio etiologico alla base di tutte le malattie.
