New York: Mysterious Press, 1986. First edition. First Printing. Hardcover. Near fine/near fine. 280pp. 8vo. Quarter bound paper and cloth over boards, stamped spine. Author has signed his name and inscribed "Dear reader--This book is hot! Nuclear fallout abounds!" on the front free endpaper. Book is a stated First Printing with a complete number line from 1-10. Red remainder mark on bottom of text block (see photo). Book is unread, unclipped ($15.95), tight, bright, straight, and jacket has a protector. Spine head and heel pushed slightly. Author also wrote "Blood on the Moon" and "Because the Night.

Synopsis

James Ellroy was born in Los Angeles in 1948. His L.A. Quartet novels--The Black Dahlia, The Big Nowhere, L.A. Confidential, and White Jazz--were international bestsellers. American Tabloid was Time's Novel of the Year for 1995; his memoir My Dark Places was a Time Best Book of the Year and a New York Times Notable Book for 1996; The Cold Six Thousand was a New York Times Notable Book and a Los Angeles Times Best Book of the Year for 2001. He lives on the California coast.
