About This Item
Atlantic Highlands, NJ, U.S.A.: Humanities Press, 1975. The second of two volumes, this book contains a selection of the most influential articles on the Greek philosophers before Socrates, beginning with the Eleatics and continuing with those philosophers who argued against the Eleatics or tried to come to terms with their arguments; these studies deal only with the four major philosophical positions of the period: the arguments of Parmenides and Zeno against pluralist theories, and the three pluralist responses of Empedocles, Anaxagoras, and the early Atomists (orange cloth with gold lettering, slightly creased at ends of spine; light yellow & dark green dust jacket is worn along the edges with small tears and chips; otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy). Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
