Ottawa: A. S. Woodburn, 1885. ix, 288pp. Quarto. Bright blue publisher's cloth with gold gilt decorations and lettering stamped to the front board and spine. Beveling to the edges of the boards. Maroon coloured coated endpapers. Gold gilt to all edges. Heavily illustrated throughout with seven full page chromolithograph colour plates and a black and white portrait of the author as the frontispiece. Errata page inserted between p. 4 and 5. Some light rubbing along the edges of the boards and a very light spot of soiling to the rear board. Internally clean and tight and in very good to near fine condition. Written by the naturalist and sister of Susanna Moodie, this attractive and thorough book presents a well researched study on Canadian plant life. 1885
