About This Item
New York: George Braziller, 1959. First Paper Edition . Paper. Early monograph on the marvelous American painter known for his brightly colored abstractions that used everyday images in his paintings and was an influence on Pop Art. 80 reproductions including 16 in color. Laid in the book is a brochure from Davis's retrospective at The Metropolitan Museum Of Art in 1992. Light minor soiling to the white covers. Vg+ Also laid in brochure for membership at The Brooklyn Museum with a terrific Stuart Davis wrap around painting illustrating the cover. Also laid in is a press release and a nice postcard for a recent gallery show of his black and white works.
