"5th Printing for 50th Anniversary" reprint edition, tight and handsome, of this popular account of Byrd's 1946 fourth Antarctic expedition ("Operation Highjump") by the expedition chaplain. Undated, but likely 1996. Boldly signed and inscribed by him in black ballpoint on the half-title page: "to Jim / with blessings / Father Bill."
