About This Item

San Francisco: Conference for Labor's Civil Rights, [1934]. Stapled wraps. Very good. 16p. First and last page toned, vertical crease to pamphlet. "A Bay Area churchman joins the striking maritime workers on their picket line for two weeks and later recounts his impressions. He weighs the claims of the contending sides and concludes that those of the strikers are more valid. Particularly graphic is his description of police activity on July 5, 1934, still referred to as 'Bloody Thursday.'" [Slobodek; p. 38] (9"x6")
