About This Item
New York: St. Martin's Press, 1986. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible Very Good/good. 8vo, 183 pages. Black boards with gilt lettering. Personally inscribed and signed by author on title page to longtime Arkansas bookseller Myra Moran: "To Myra, All the best, Joan Hess." Firm binding; no loose pages. Book with minimal use and wear; jacket in clear protective cover but with some small chips and wrinkles. An attractive copy. From the dust jacket: "Claire Malloy, a 38-year-old widow of a college English professor, supports herself and her recalcitrant teenage daughter by running a small bookstore in a college town - a classy little bookstore. So she is reluctant to cooperate when pressed by one of her husband's colleagues to host a book signing for his wife's latest best-selling novel, 'Professor of Passion,' a torrid romance with perhaps no redeeming value but immense profit potential."
