About This Item
London: Chatto & Windus, 1950. Creasing and tears to edges of unclipped dustwrapper, mostly at spine ends and sides, an old price label on back panel. Minor bumping to spine ends and corners of red boards, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. Originally published in 1937, this is a later printing from 1950, part of the "Uniform Edition" of the author's historical novels. This one deals with the life of Prince Rupert of the Rhine, who is probably best-remembered as a Royalist cavalry commander fighting for his uncle Charles I during the English Civil war. 592pp, b&w frontispiece.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
