The sixth book on Zen by a former university professor who, with this one, has written "a book that traverses the evolution of Zen Buddhism from the historical Buddha to the present." Foreword by Genjo Marinello Roshi (who is quoted, above), and an afterword by Dosho Port Roshi. 463 pages (including acknowledgments, bibliography, glossary, and brief author biography). Inscription reads, "To Kelly/with gassho--/Rick" followed by his signature. A very nice copy w/a hint of surface wear..
