This is the second appearance of Alice Munro in print, and in Folio Magazine. The publication appeared during her second year at University of Western Ontario and is printed under her maiden name, Alice Laidlaw. Her time at the University was short-lived, as finances grew thin and she dropped out, got married, and moved to British Columbia. This item represents a short but significant period in her development as a writer. A complete collection of Folio is available in some special collections, but pre-1960 editions are rare to find on the open market. From a run of probably fewer than 150 copies.
