Story takes place in small town New England with a somewhat comical assortment of characters and adventures. 12 full page illustrations after original designs by Sol. Eytinge. 25th Thousand. Extremities worn and frayed. Ffep torn out, binding strong. Fep has small sticker from Winson & Higbie Booksellers & Stationers, Rochester. Some pages spotted. 441 pages. Frontispiece with tissue. Several pages at the center are torn approx. 1"" in, text readable. Josiah Gilbert Holland, 1819-1881, was an American novelist and poet who also published under the pseudonym Timothy Titcomb.
