New York and London: Harper & Brothers, 1920. Hardcover. Very Good. color frontis, illustrations (by J[ohn] R[ichard] Flanagan, an Australian born artist and illustrator), 72p. Original cloth backed brown boards. 24 cm. Cover slightly soiled Ends of backstrip rubbed. Backstrip has a modest gouge and a scraped area as also rubbed at ends. No jacket. Photo postcard and two holograph letters letters from Flanagan to John or Geraldine Stedman are laid in or mounted. Two are dated in the 1920s; the third is undated but probably somewhere the same period. The 1924 letter reports proudly that he has just learned the the Government of Australia had purchased two of his pictures."The Other Wise Man was first published in 1896; Flanagan's illustration appear to have been added to this reformatted 1920 edition.
