New York: Harper & Brothers, 1899. Hardcover. Good. 18mo. Green cloth boards with white label to front board, gilt lettering to front and spine. xiii, 75 p.p. Colour frontis. Light wear to extremities, bumping to spine ends and corners, a few damp stains to boards and spine, small red scuff to rear board at foot. Damp staining to head and fore edge. Ink onwership inscription to recto of frontis. The story is an addition and expansion of the account of the Biblical Magi, recounted in the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament.

Synopsis

Henry Van Dyke was a preacher, university professor, diplomat, poet, translator, and author of many inspirational writings.  His most famous work is The Story of the Other Wise Man , one of the best loved and most inspiring of all Christmas classics, celebrating its triumphant centennial in 1996.
