First edition, third printing. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and seventy-six black-and-white plates. Collated complete. The history of the island of Bermuda, with commentary on Hernando Camelo, May's shipwreck, King Charles and the tobacco trade, salt and cedar, the climate, economic conditions, populations, writers on Bermuda, architecture, gardens, and much more. Written by Hudson Strode, an author and professor of creative writing. Illustrated by Walter Rutherford, a British photographer. In the original full green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. A crease to the first few pages. Very Good
