Firenze: Salimbeni, 1981. Introduction by Fernando Tempestri. A facsimile of Pinocchio, as it first appeared in serial installments in Italy from 1881-1883. Text is in the original (Tuscan) Italian. Published in Florence to mark the centenary of Pinocchio. A rich fantasy that differs considerably from the tame versions known via Disney and other adaptations. Large paperbound format in olive green wraps. Approx. 13 x 9.5 inches. viii, [104] pp. Illustrations for Pinocchio and other works that appeared alongside it in the "Children's Newspaper." Near Fine with light rubbing. Never read.
