Pp. 28(including upper endpapers)+[2](colophon, blank); tall impl. 8vo; semi-stiff boards, slightly foxed, loosely covered (as issued) with marbled paper, edges lightly rubbed and browned, fore-corners and spine extremities a trifle chipped, the printed paper title label on upper board faintly soiled, spine lightly faded and rubbed; uncut; lacking the glassine wrapper; book label of David Levine, Sydney, on upper pastedown, small inked doodle initialled 'K' on verso of title page, with 6 other tiny inked initials apparently added by hand above and below the colophon, hinges tender at a couple of points, a little faint soiling; The Nonesuch Press, London, 1927. Edition limited to 1,525 numbered copies. McKitterick 46. *James Laver (1899-1975) worked in the Department of Engraving, Illustration and Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum for nearly four decades.
