About This Item

New York, NY Random House: Pantheon Books, 1983. Hardcover First Ed USA, so stated. First Ed USA, so stated. Near Fine in Very Good+. DJ: Book shows front corners slightly bumped; else flawless. Binding square and secure; text clean. Dustwrapper shows spine may be very slightly sunned- still bright and quite legible; hints of edgewear; mylar-protected. Close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 316pp. Hardback with DJ. This is a terrific book and should have a new edition. The interviews are wonderful and Miller is not only a unique stage director for theater and opera but a fine interviewer as well. The Geertz interview is worth the price of the book. The other interviews are essential reading for people interested in Miller's unique views on theater and life. I've used it for years in my teaching and my study of character. Each of the interviews are interesting and unique...as unique as Miller's view of the works for the stage have been over the years. They ought to bring out a second edition if nothing else, to keep these excellent interviews available in the world. This is a must for people of the stage and opera world and it's a big help for an approach to Indigenous Art as well. (See the Geertz Interview).
