Image, 1987. Book. Near Fine. Soft cover. Reprint. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Trade paperback. 149 pages. Introduction by Joseph F. Girzone. Later printing (2001). Considered by many to be the "best appreciation" of the life of St. Francis, it ranks with Chesterton's other religious writings "Saint Thomas Aquinas" and "Orthodoxy". No previous ownership marks. No spine crease. Several small, incidental pen marks to cover, else fine. A near fine copy. .

Synopsis

Chesterton's biography of Saint Francis of Assisi is a classic portrait of the saint. Chesterton tries to bring us as close to Francis' interior life as an external observer can manage to be.
