London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1876. 1st Edition . Very Good Minus. 6 x 8.75 inches (15 x 22.5 cm). Publisher's green pebbled cloth binding, illustrated in gilt and black. Page edges untrimmed. A few stains to covers, restoration to edge of spine and front endpaper joint. Complete with four plates plus several illustrations within the text. Scattered light foxing, a couple of pages have a short tear to outer margin. Good solid binding. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper (Henry Arthur Blyth). Inscribed to the half title page: 'Emily Whitelock, with love from the author's mother'. Overall condition is Very Good Minus.
