London: John Murray, 1876 [2], x, [2], 252pp, 32pp, bound in the original maroon cloth with gilt emblems on the front and back covers, beveled edges, binding and hinges tight. Complete with 5 plates, as called for. From the Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet. The Society dates back to the 15th century, and the officers were authorized to produce royal manuscripts with the King of Scotland's seal, The Signet, with their seal inside the front cover. From the personal collection of Dr. Brooks Ryder (1918-1995), graduate of Harvard College, Harvard School of Public Health, and Tufts Medical School. Known for his Public Health expertise overseas, throughout East Africa and Indonesia.
