About This Item

Geoffrey Cumberlege / Oxford University Press, London, 1952. Reprint. Hardcover. Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Radcliffe Wilson. Biggles's Philosophy, Green coloured boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The story of how Biggles was appointed the head of Squadron 666 – " ... the Squadron had been formed for the special-purpose of accommodating a collection of brilliant but unstable types whose capacities as fighter pilots are in inverse ratio to their amenity to discipline at the normal routine of a station." – from the front fold over panel blurb. A little softening of the back strip edges and bumping of the top right hand corner of the front panel. Tanning and some foxing to the text block edges – particularly to the top edge. Age toning of the pages with faint offset tanning to the end pages and original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels with sunning noted to the rear panel. There is a piece missing to the lower left hand corner of the front panel. Faint foxing and browning to the verso. NOTE: – the dustwrapper has been printed upside down – so, consequently when you put the dustwrapper on the book in what appears to be the correct manner – the book is upside down! Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [7], 8 - 256 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Radcliffe Wilson. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
