8 vol set. Very Good HCs, no DJs. Vellum (or faux vellum) over beveled boards, red leather spine panels with gilt letters; top edge gilt; white watered (moiré) pattern end papers; laid paper. Covers are firm and square with clean edges; lightly scuffed/soiled; some age darkening at edges; spines are evenly darkened with all panels legible; tightly bound; book plates on front pastedown of each volume ('Deus Protector Noster'); owner name on front pastedown of each volume; very clean interiors with some age darkening at page edges; many leaves unopened at fore edges. Spine panels on each volume are shield at upper spine bearing title, vol number and editor name and small rectangle at lower spine bearing publisher name, place and date 1881 (title page gives 1883). All shields are VG and complete though Vol 6 scraped. 5 of 8 lower spine rectangles are chipped, 2 severely. OCLC #8466537; LOC #9691017. 12mo, 3252 pp; index.
