The first edition, first printing of this work, published in July 1946.In the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper, with adhesive laminate applied to wraps and back strip.The stories in this collection had previously appeared in two Avon paperbacks, published in 1944 and 1945.This collection includes 'Spanish Blood', 'The King in Yellow', 'Pearls are a Nuisance', 'Nevada Gas', and 'Trouble in my Business'. Raymond Chandler was an American-British novelist and screenwriter best known for his detective crime stories. He was best known for writing the novels such as 'The Big Sleep' and 'The Long-Goodbye', featuring the PI Philip Marlowe. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumps to back strip head and tail, with rubbing to back strip centre, and to joints. Age toned adhesive laminate applied to back strip and wraps of dust wrapper. Light handling marks to rear wrap, and to dust wrapper reverse at back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, but clean. Very Good
