About This Item
Richmond, Virginia: P. D. Bernard, 1843. Two volumes bound in one: 282 and 280 pages plus indices for both volumes. Bound in 1/2 mauve leather over mauve cloth-covered boards. A complete run (24 monthly issues) for two years of this scarce agricultural magazine, which remained in existence until its merger with The Farmer in 1867. The articles cover every aspect of agrarian life in the American South during the early 1840s. The book is in very good condition: clean and tight, with moderate foxing (one leaf tanned but still quite readable); previous (probably first) name and date (October 14, 1846) written on first blank page.. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible-very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Magazine/Periodical.
