About This Item

London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1948 . First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A superior copy of this first edition collection of short stories by William Sansom. The first edition of this work by William Sansom, author known for his descriptive prose style. An exciting anthology of nine short stories serving as a travel guide to Corsica, Italy, and Southern France.  The characters illustrated in this book are entirely fictional. With the original, price clipped dustwrapper. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, lovely. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper. The dustwrapper is price clipped and smart with slight shelfwear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine, with tape repairs to the head and tail of the spine internally to the wraps, not affecting the externals. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
