About This Item
A bit of wear, primarily at the corners. Creases at the corners, resulting in loss of a small piece at the lower right of the front cover and a much smaller piece at the same corner on the rear. The spine is square and creaseless, but its color has faded from the original lavendar. Some glue residue on the lower left corner of the front cover and some chipping along the edges of the spine. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked, although yellowing due to age. This is the second book of House of Earth Trilogy, sequel to The Good Earth. A rather rare book.
Synopsis
The Sons is a collection of stories by Franz Kafka. In 1913 Kafka wrote to his publisher Kurt Wolff requesting that three of his stories be placed in a single volume: "The Stoker, The Metamorphosis, and The Judgment belong together, both inwardly and outwardly. There is an obvious connection among the three, and, even more important, a secret one, for which reason I would be reluctant to forgo the chance of having them published together in a book, which might be called The Sons.
