Herbert Jenkins, 1951. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1951. First Edition. 270 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Missing front free endpaper. Pages are moderately foxed, but text remains clear. Visible marking to some pages throughout, but text is not affected. Binding is firm. Inscriptions to rear pastedown and half title page. Loss to paper of pastedowns. Boards and spine have minimal shelf-wear, with mild corner bumping and crushing to ends. Tape and paper remnants to boards. Gilt remains bright. Some visible marks overall. Book has a slight forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed.

Tightly bound with faint thumb-marking throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Mild sunning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Mild droplet to front board. Clipped jacket has light edgewear with tears and creasing. Notable foxing to inside. Bound in orange boards with gilt spine text, book has no names, pages unmarked and lightly age toned, foredges foxed, 1.5mm dark spot on front cover, top edge with decorative orange stain. Dust jacket is unclipped (9/6) , a hint of corner wear, spine has a tiny bit of chipping at the top and 2 horizontal creases across the publisher's name at the bottom, white rear panel is lightly toned along the edges and has minor soiling, no chips or tears, color is very nice. A nice, clean, tight and very attractive book. Jacket in really nice shape for the age and is protected in a mylar cover. .
