About This Item

London: The Hogarth Press, , [1925]. First edition, first impression, published October 1925, about 300 copies printed. The title-page is undated, but the preface is dated 1925. The 1939 Catalogue of The Hogarth Press lists this title as published in 1923. Palmer's slim volume of verse is dedicated to "the ghosts of John Masefield and Siegfried Sassoon". This copy has a highly distinguished collector's provenance, bearing the bookplate of William Beekman to the front pastedown. Much of Beekman's excellent Bloomsbury Group and Hogarth Press collection now forms part of the Berg Collection at the New York Public Library. Octavo. Original reddish blue marbled paper boards, cream title label lettered in black on front cover, edges uncut and unopened. The binding sharp, a touch of spotting to a couple of leaves, else a fine copy. Woolmer 72.
