About This Item
Used book may have markings, writing from the previous owner. Some bumping, rubbing, creasing on the top, spine, edges, corners. Outer page edges with tanning, browning, stains and foxing. Damp stain on tail, near spine on outer edges but does not interfere with reading text. Stain of yellow on all outer edges. This wild-spirited tale tells of a bitter strike that rages through a small lumber town along the Oregon coast. Bucking that strike out of sheer cussedness are the Stampers. Out of the Stamper family's rivalries and betrayals Ken Kesey has crafted a novel with the mythic impact of Greek tragedy. 1971. B1.
Synopsis
Sometimes a Great Notion is Ken Kesey's second novel, published in 1964. Although One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is more famous, many critics consider Sometimes a Great Notion his magnum opus. The story revolves around an Oregon logging family that continues to cut trees despite a union strike.
