Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper and pastedowns. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Marking to rear board.

Spine a bit crushed at the top. Top cut edge looks dirty. Front and bottom cut edges have some foxing. Tanning to endpapers. SIgnature on front free ep. Some foxing throughout the book, but it remains very readable. Binding is good. Thirty-two colour illustrations and black and white maps. No dust jacket.

Light thumb marking, foxing and tanning to pages and plates. Light cracking to gutters but binding remains firm; cracking noticeably heavier to front hinge. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped dust jacket with moderate rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall with visible loss and creasing to panels.

Offset browning to free end papers, no previous owner name or insc. Mild foxing to edges of book block, heavy to title and sporadic mild to moderate throughout. Book downgraded from VG for this reason. The plates - being on china clay paper are of course unaffected, Binding sound).
