This is the autobiography of Hall of Fame boxer ROCKY GRAZIANO, "Somebody Up There Likes Me - The Story of My Life Until Today" written with Rowland Barber. 1955 1st edition, 1st printing (stated); Simon and Schuster; New York. The book comes with its original dust jacket. There are 16 pages of black & white photographs at the front. The chapters are as follows: They See the Devil; You Got to Pay for It; My War with the United States Army; Main Bout. From the dust jacket: "This is the astonishingly candid and powerful story of how an East Side hoodlum came to terms with the world and would up 'a legitimate guy,' complete with wife, two daughters, and a flourishing career in television - 'the happiest man in all New York.' It is a wonderfully racy, moving, and dramatic book about a remarkable character."
Condition:
Light soiling to the spine. The back cover has a couple small, light stains. Small cloth tears at the cover corners. The book leans to the right a bit. The pages are mostly clean with the exception of pages 1-5, which have a small, light stain at the outer edge (the text is unaffected). There is a small, dark stain/foxing(?) spot at the bottom of the long edge of the text block...the stain/foxing has bled onto a few of the text pages at the outer edge just a bit. Light tanning to the end papers and pastedowns. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition. The dust jacket has tears along the perimeter, there is a piece missing at the front flap corners, and at the corners of the spine; light staining to the back cover; the price has been clipped from the front flap...overall the jacket is in Fair condition.
